Building your first AR experience for iOS
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said recently that Augmented Reality (AR) is the future of the iPhone. As part of their campaign to promote AR, Apple has even launched a showcase page.
At this point, there is really no excuse for any iOS developer to not get started with AR. However, we know that AR development has not been straight forward in the past. This tutorial should give everybody that is curious about AR a headstart.
We are going to walk you through all the necessary steps to create an iOS app that runs an AR session and uses surface detection to place 3D content. Additionally, the complete code for this tutorial is available on Github.
